Sr. Product Manager of Science and Nutrition
WISEcode
About WISEcode
WISEcode™ is on a mission to revolutionize food transparency and empower personalized nutrition. Our proprietary WISEdata™ platform maps over 15,000 attributes per food item across more than 650,000 products—offering over 1,000x more information than the FDA-mandated Nutrition Facts Panel. We combine cutting-edge lab testing, AI, machine learning, and deep science to create clarity where there was once confusion. We are not here to tell people what to eat. We are here to give people the knowledge to make the best choices for their lives, their bodies, and their goals. Our codes unlock truth, and with truth comes power. And with power comes freedom.
Let’s Build Something the World Has Never Seen.
A Once-in-a-Generation Opportunity to Redefine Nutrition
Science
WISEcode isn’t just a food tech company. We are a movement born out of frustration with a broken food system and powered by a belief in the regenerative power of the human body. While the rest of the world remains stuck with outdated Nutrition Facts Panels and murky food labels, WISEcode is forging a new future of food transparency, backed by the most powerful food data set in the world: WISEdata™.
As our Sr. Product Manager of Science and Nutrition, you will lead one of the most exciting and meaningful missions in modern health and wellness. You’ll take the richest food data ever assembled—over 15,000 attributes per food across 650,000+ products—and create a new universal language for food: codes that simplify complexity into clarity for consumers, retailers, CPGs, health researchers, and enterprise users.
You’ll work side-by-side with our Chief Scientific Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and some of the world’s top nutrition scientists through our WISEalliance and Scientific Advisory Board. Together, you will build, validate, and launch the next generation of ingredient, nutrition, and health-based quality scores. This is not a traditional role—you will be breaking new ground and reshaping how the world understands food and you will often be acting as a Sr. Product Manager (PM).
What You’ll Be Creating: The Codes
At the heart of your work will be the creation and refinement of WISEcode’s three signature categories of codes:
Ingredient Quality Codes (13+ built): These include categories such as ● Banned/Unsafe Ingredients, Seed Oils, Artificial Additives, Allergens, and Ultra-Processed indicators. These codes highlight ingredients that should be questioned, eliminated, or monitored
● Nutrition Quality Codes (in development): These go far beyond macronutrients to evaluate nutrient density, protein quality, omega-3/6 ratios, added sugars, fiber density, vitamin and mineral sufficiency, polyphenols, and more
● Health Quality Codes (next frontier): These codes aim to connect food to health outcomes. Initial areas include Anti-Inflammatory, Gut Health, Heart Health, Diabetes, Cancer, Brain Health, Sleep, Energy, Menopausal Support, Child Development, and Recovery. Each code will become a bridge—translating thousands of data points into one simple, intuitive signal that guides choices
Key Responsibilities:
● Architect and manage the definition and development of a new taxonomy of food codes rooted in nutritional science, ingredient transparency, and health outcome correlations
● Translate the depth of WISEdata™ into simplified, explainable systems for consumers and enterprise users
● Serve as the scientific product lead, working cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing, Product, and Sales to embed food science into all consumer touchpoints
● Engage regularly with our Scientific Advisory Board and partner scientists to ensure scientific accuracy and real-world relevance
● Collaborate with AI/ML teams to incorporate pattern recognition, personalization, and adaptive learning into our scoring systems
● Maintain the integrity and quality of all scientific data; evaluate new research, data sources, and industry developments for integration
● Partner with other PMs and engineering to define and build secure, intuitive B2B dashboards and tools that elegantly deliver food, nutrition and code-related data to scientists
● Support business strategy and GTM efforts by building a product narrative that is not only technically accurate, but emotionally and commercially compelling
Qualifications:
● You are not just a scientist or a product manager. You are a translator of complexity, a simplifier of science, a lover of truth, and an advocate for the public
● You may come from food science, nutrition, biochemistry, public health, or clinical research. You might have worked in product development, a scientific nonprofit, health tech, or even as a startup founder. But wherever you come from, your fuel is the belief that food should be loved, not feared; that truth is the foundation of trust; and that in today’s world of sketchy ingredients in packaged foods,
WISEcode’s code-driven insights can act as a transparency layer to illuminate what’s really inside every label
● Proven background (5-10+ years) in nutrition science, food product development, ingredient research, or data science related to food and healthDeep understanding of scientific method and real-world application, especially in nutrition labeling, nutrient density, food safety, or functional ingredients
● Experience in building or contributing to products or systems that simplify scientific content for consumers
● Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with leading scientists, executives, engineers, and everyday users alike
● As a Sr. Product Manager, you will need strong documentational skills to write Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) that serve as the templates for engineering to build codes, scores and data dashboards
● Entrepreneurial spirit: 0-to-1 thinker, problem solver, unafraid of ambiguity or moonshots
● Degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Biochemistry, Public Health, or related field required; advanced degrees preferred
